Eternal Life

Some time ago, I wrote a blog in Macedonian about how to obtain eternal life according to the Bible and it seems to have attracted significant attention particularly in the Ukraine. I have no idea if a Ukrainian can understand much Macedonian, but perhaps there are enough similarities in the language to grasp the gist. As I write, my thoughts will come to me in English, but I will also refer to some of the material from that previous blog. The past few weeks have witnessed the exit of several renowned 'players' who have graced this earthly stage. I am sure you have seen the famous quote of David Bowie circulating the net: I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring. Time and time again people claim we cannot know what is on the other side as no one has ever returned from there. That is not strictly true. The Messiah, Jesus Christ, came from there, eternity, to tell us how it is and what is required of us to enter. Yet we happ...

Confusion in Christendom

Last night, we spent a couple of hours explaining the real meaning of the Gospel after our Bible study to an inquirer. It just made me realize the confusion that exists within so-called Christendom regarding the very central message of the Bible. Salvation is not through a church or man-made system! What an insult to our magnified Lord, who paid the ultimate price of our salvation when He took our sins on His body on the cross of Calvary (Isaiah 53:5-6, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 Peter 1:18-19). NO ONE is worthy or deserving of salv ation, but the Lord Jesus Christ offers this gift to us in mercy and love because He so much desires fellowship with His creatures. He died to redeem us. How dare anyone suggest that we atone for our sins by praying for this or that person or afflict self-torment to become worthy of God!! Why spit in the face of the One who has done it all? Why trample on His cross with our filthy rags of 'righteousness'! My God will not be mocked. It is very simple. Nothing...

A Greater Tragedy

My dear friends, if you are like me, you are watching these tragic events taking place in the world at the moment and thinking how dreadful and sad for the people. Such human suffering! Yesterday 298 souls perished in the Malaysian plane crash in eastern Ukraine. What a tragedy! Every day people die from starvation, murder, persecution, accidents, abortion... The list is endless. However, this morning while I was praying, the thought came to me that it will be a greater tragedy if we die without Jesus ! The Bible has been given to us to warn us of the future judgment in eternity. Hebrews 9:27-28:  And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,   so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation .  Many of you think that it is enough to live a peaceful life on earth and when we die, we will see if we have a chance of entering heaven. This is a hu...

The Good News

I started my day with this wonderful song. The music itself expresses peace and tranquility and the refrain says that God's love came down from heaven to save and free me. The first verse says: 'If my heart is overwhelmed and I cannot hear your voice, I hold on to what is true though I cannot see.' In all honesty, I don't know where I'd have been this evening if God wasn't in my life. Maybe you think I'm into spiritual things way too much, but I can't explain enough the importance of spiritual life. God's standard is found in the Ten Commandments in the book of Exodus 20:1-17 in the Old Testament. Who can say they have never broken one of those laws? NOT ONE OF US!! The Bible says that we have all sinned (Romans 3:23) and therefore God cannot accept us to be with Him in heaven as we are. He is holy and we are all sinners (except for Jesus). But there is GOOD NEWS. The Good News The word 'Gospel' is from the Greek word 'εὐαγ...
