The Show Must Go On

Freddie Mercury, who tragically died 25 years ago today from AIDS, recorded "The Show Must Go On" 6 weeks prior to his death. How sad and hopeless are the sentiments of the song: ...what are we living for? ...does anybody know what we are looking for? ...does anybody want to take it anymore? ...inside my heart is breaking ...I'll leave it all to chance Maybe some of you are asking the same questions. Is your existence hopeless? Do you know why you are here? The moment you understand the purpose of your life, you'll never be the same again. Your Creator made you for a purpose. He made you in His image to have fellowship with Him and live for eternal values, but sin has separated you from Him and that victorious life. He will never override your free will, but as you ignore Him and live in 'empty spaces', His heart is breaking! Come to Him for real life! Receive His Spirit and taste ETERNAL life on this earth and in the life to come. Read God's vers...

Christmas Blessings!

For many of us, the Christmas story reads like a myth. That is why increasing numbers omit the ‘Christ’ component of Christmas and will celebrate X, Y and Zmas as they see fit. C.S. Lewis concluded: * "Now the story of Christ is simply a true myth: a myth working on us in the same way as the others, but with this tremendous difference that it really happened : and one must be content to accept it in the same way, remembering that it is God’s myth where others are men’s myths…" Men’s myths usually have no real geographical location, whereas God’s 'myth' does. Just in passing, increasing archaeological discoveries in Jerusalem continue to prove the historicity of the Bible. As I stood in the Shepherds’ Field outside of Bethlehem back in September of this year, it was deeply moving to relive in my mind the events of Luke 2: 8-20. What a privilege to stand in the actual place where the ‘glory of the Lord’ shone around the shepherds as they received the he...

The Cross

Today, I was thankful to find a few free hours in the afternoon for quiet meditation and worship in the stillness of my well-insulated flat. By meditation, I mean quiet reflection of God and His glory as recorded by the Psalmist in Psalm 111. The Psalm ends with the words: to him belongs eternal praise. I couldn't agree more because I have heard the 'still, small voice' many times in my life and seen his miraculous hand in protection and healing. That alone makes me want to praise him forever. But that is only the tip of the iceberg. Why does eternal praise belong to God? We will be eternally grateful to God for saving us through the death of Christ on the cross and for his redeeming love. That song of praise has already started on earth. Contrary to popular belief, we will praise God for his benevolence, mercy, loving kindness, holiness, righteousness, unfailing love, compassion... No language contains enough words to describe God and no mind can comprehend his entity, ...
